Dr. Monkey collected himself. "You are so much more than my nurse, Nurse Martha," he said. "You must know that."
He thought maybe this was the time to say how he really felt, but wondered maybe if he should first ask one more question.
"Um--you're sure the patient isn't in immediate danger?"
